Deborah Lambert Memorial Scholarship
In honor of Deborah Lambert (SWANA Washington Evergreen Chapter President 2002-2005), and the many years she dedicated to the solid waste management field, the Chapter is pleased to offer scholarships to qualified undergraduate and graduate students. Between 2003 and 2020, the Evergreen Chapter has awarded nearly $122,000 in scholarships to 87 students.

Environmental Scholarship — up to $2500
Must be accepted for enrollment in any junior college or four year college pursuing a degree in a field related to Solid Waste Management or the Environment.
General Scholarship — up to $1500
Must be accepted for enrollment in any junior college, university, or graduate school in any degree program or major.
SWANA Washington Evergreen Chapter Scholarship Criteria
Must be children or grandchildren of a member or a student member in good standing. Becoming a student member is free. Visit SWANA’s membership page to join.
Applicants should scan application, transcripts and cover letter into a single document and submit via email. All applications must include a cover letter signed by applicant.
Applications must be received by June 1.

SWANA International Scholarship Opportunities
In order to prepare the next generation for the environmentally and economically sound practice of solid waste, SWANA has developed several scholarship and internship programs for students studying in fields related to solid waste management.
