SWANA provides training courses and certification exams for landfill operators. The Manager of Landfill Operation (MOLO) course is highly recommended for those interested in taking the Landfill Certification Exam, but is not required. The MOLO course was updated in 2009. More information on SWANA Certification is available on the SWANA International website.
The Washington State Department of Ecology (ECY) requires landfill operators and inspectors in Washington to be certified. MOLO certification is recognized as suitable certification. Please visit Ecology’s website if you have questions regarding the the Washington state certification program.
